Dogpod and Dog Charities

Dogpod.co.uk unsurprisingly loves dogs! Because of this we also love to help those dogs in need that perhaps don't get the attention or treatment that they deserve or require. As much as we would love to be able to personally rescue every dog in the world it is simply not possible even if we enlisted the help of each and every one of you dog lovers to try and help us.

The bright side is that although we can't have a super human effect and rescue all the fluffy friends out there, we can help teams of people dedicated to helping them including the Dogs Trust.

The Dogs Trust was founded in 1891 to protect dogs from torture and ill-usage of every kind, Dogs Trust, formerly known as the NCDL, has now pursued its goal with determination for over one hundred years.

Vowing never to turn down a reasonable request for help, Dogs Trust began operations funded entirely by donations from members and supporters. In 1902 membership totalled 1000 for the first time and continued to grow steadily to 6,500 members by 1910. Today Dogs Trust has over 600,000 members and supporters.

We here at Dogpod decided early on that we wanted to do whatever we could to help dogs in need after having followed the NCDL / Dogs Trust over the years. As a result we now donate part of every single order placed on this site to the Dogs Trust to help dogs in need.

This means at least 25p of each order gets donated to the Dogs Trust. That may not sound like much but keep in mind that this is the minimum amount and once you start to multiply that by the number of dog lovers like you placing orders it suddenly adds up to a decent sized donation that helps many dogs around the UK.

We will be updating this page soon with up to date totals donated along with some stories from the dogs that have been helped and how they are doing now.

Regardless of if you decide to shop with us, why not consider making a donation to the Dogs Trust. It only takes a moment and could save the life of a Dog somewhere near you.
